Dr. Darrell King

Chairman of The Board

A native South Carolinian, Dr. Darrell King and his wife Mary are the Founders of NexGen Leadership Initiative, which delivers cutting-edge leadership,  management solutions, and workshops to small businesses and churches in South Carolina and Virginia.

In September 2010, Dr. King retired from the United States Air Force at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank, after 28 years of honorable service to our nation. His military accomplishments include, the Bronze Star, five Meritorious Service Medals, and the William H. Pitsenberger Award for Heroism, presented to him for saving the lives of five small children from an apartment fire.

 Dr. King’s educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland University College, a Master of Science degree in Management from Troy University, Alabama, a Master of Divinity degree at Virginia University – Lynchburg School of Theology where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio where he graduated as a Curtis-Stewart fellow. Additionally, Dr. King completed Clinical Pastoral Education Level-One with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy and he’s also a certified speaker, coach, and trainer with the John Maxwell Leadership Team. Dr. King is also a member of the Alpha Phi Al-ha International.

He and his wife Mary loves to spend time with their 3 children and 3 grandchildren.  He lives by Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and he shall direct your path.
