Dr. Zakevia Lewis-Kendrick

An Entrepreneur, Philanthropist extraordinaire, Motivational Speaker, Teacher, Counselor, Author, Trainer, and thought leader, her trove of accomplishments is as big as her heart. Dr. Zakevia Lewis-Kendrick, has dedicated her life to helping others improve theirs through, Education, Insight, and Change.

The Entrepreneur:

Dr. Zakevia is the owner of Divine Intervention Professional Counseling Service (12 years) a place where she inspires, motivates, and encourages individuals to be their “Best Self.” She is very passionate about empowering youth, individuals, families, and her community to live spiritually, mentally, and physically healthy lives. As a family therapist, she integrates her knowledge of education and mental health to guide her clients to effectively strengthen and elevate their lives, to higher heights.

She loves laughter and is the co-owner of Divine Nfinity Photobooth 360, LLC.

Motivational Speaker/Trainer:

Dr. Zakevia’s down-to-earth humor compels audiences to laugh while they learn. She engages groups from the moment she steps in front of them and leaves them with empowering tools and focused mindsets that they will use long after the lights have gone out on the event. She is passionate about people, leadership, and successful businesses. She is especially inspired to help people take their careers – and themselves – to unprecedented levels. With over ten years of training experience, a knack for making meaningful connections with audiences, and an insatiable appetite for helping others maximize their potential, Dr. Zakevia knows how to rock a platform, connect with a crowd, and provide training so that others can be inspired to be a better version of themselves no matter what life has served them.

Counselor:

With over 12 years of working with individuals, families, and organizations to amplify their communication, connection, and confidence. She can integrate her knowledge of education and mental health to help families problem-solve, life transitions, mood disorders, grief and loss, and to combat psychological and spiritual problems. Her clients include those who wish to improve their marriages, parenting, communication, and/or life skills.

Philanthropist:

Dr. Zakevia established the Jeremiah Henry Kendrick Memorial Foundation in 2014 after Master Jeremiah lost his battle with sickle cell disease. She vowed to keep her son’s memory alive by giving back to her community through Jeremiah’s Journey, Adopt-A-Highway Initiative, in Goose Creek, Over the years Dr. Zakevia has given thousands of dollars in scholarships to individuals with Sickle Cell Disease and is pursuing a Higher Education. She donates a book to the fallen angel and sorority sister. She has partnered with the American Red Cross to help get the message out for the blood crisis we face worldwide. Dr. Zakevia partnered with “We Are Their Voices” in 2018 and provides free grief counseling to those who have lost family members to gun violence.

Employed:

Dr. Zakevia is employed at the Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Governmental Affairs, as Program Manager of Violence Prevention Community Outreach, and an Assistant Professor at Limestone University Graduate Studies, Social Work Department.

Education:

A graduate of Argosy University where she earned her Doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Pastoral Community Counseling/Counseling Psychology, her MSW (Master’s Degree in Social Work) from the University of South Carolina, and her BSW (Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work) from Limestone College. Dr. Zakevia is a Human Services Board-Certified Practitioner in the state of South Carolina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Associate, a Certified Life Coach, and a Certified Adoption Investigator.

Dr. Zakevia has co-authored her first book, W.O.M.B (Women Overcoming Men Blues) Sisters Chronicles, Vol. II and is currently writing Never Again Once More, based on Love. Lust. & Lies.
